Blairs attempt to re-enter politics

In a nation drowning in apathy and selfishness, thieves and pimps will prosper. This effeminate man has made millions from destroying our country, subverting our institutions, sending our young men and women to their deaths and deliberately flooding us with immigrants to ensure that Britishness is destroyed forever. He has ensured that his family will enjoy massive wealth, an elite lifestyle and protection for generations, while the rest of us struggle to survive in a country he left in ruins. With faux sincerity and glistening eyes raised heavenwards, he swans around the world courted by presidents, kings and superstars preaching to them all what they should and shouldn't do. And still the greed is not satisfied. If this man has the sheer gall to bid for elder statesmanship - and the British people do not have the principle and passion to stand against him, then we deserve the destruction we voted for.

The ludicrous nature of the House of Lords reforms

The ludicrous nature of the House of Lords reforms is highlighted by the position of the bilious Lord Oakeshott. Twice he stood for election and wisely on both occasions the voters rejected him. The LibDems responded by circumventing democracy and raising him to the peerage. As I understand it, the new proposals will ensure that the voters are kept well away from decisions that might result in Oakeshott losing his cosy unelected sinecure. The electorate will only be allowed to vote for a Party. Decisions on which of their friends, relations and benefactors will sit in the Lords will be taken by anonymous men doing deals in locked rooms. It won't be a reform. It will be a recipe for corruption.

David Starkey, the voice of the silent majority

David Starkey is one of the few people in the public limelight who has the guts to speak his mind. He is the voice of the silent majority in this country, and whether you agree with him or not, nasty embittered trolls. Enlighten us, Where do these values come from Ms Laurie ? They arent' Anglican, Catholic, Methodist or Penticostal. Perhaps she'll tell us they come from newspapers? I wish someone would ask her.

Afghan forces end Taliban siege of hotel, 20 dead

Elite Afghan police backed by NATO forces ended a 12-hour siege on Friday at a popular hotel outside Kabul, leaving at least 20 dead after Taliban gunmen stormed the lakeside building, bursting into a party and seizing dozens of hostages.

So called “problem families"

I have several first editions of Punch from the Victorian Era and in the illustrations one finds many examples of social prejudice against the criminal poor. So, this question, is nothing new and the fact that it has returned reflects the fact that we have gone backwards as a society. Social advances that were started by governments of left and right, were lost during the 1980s and have not been recovered.  Of course the solution lies in returning to full employment, and that should be measured by jobs for everyone able to work and not the New Labour criteria of all available jobs being taken. We need to return to a Manufacturing base and create a new Blue Collar class.  There are literally millions in our country who lack the intellectual capacity to undertake White Collar work and so we need Blue Collar jobs so that this group can reengage with society. The Neoliberal ideology of the 1980s has caused great damage to some sections of society and left many in retarded development because they have been left outside of the social process. We should not follow the Victorian habit of mocking those haunting the margins of society, but instead look to bring the alienated back into the fold.

Oh George

No doubt Osborne is a highly intelligent and capable politician. How many of his critics could stand up in the Commons and hold their own while presenting a complex budget? Easier said than done. However the charge that he has no experience outside politics is the killer. Why do we allow such people to take charge of our national budget? Compared with ex-Goldman Sachs types like Paulson in the US or Monti in Italy I suspect his knowledge of high finance is pretty shaky, which means he is too likely to tolerate failed bankers begging for more taxpayers money. We need someone with the confidence to see them off.

Immigrant to sue the UK (I should say tax payers) for £11m -for making him unhappy

An immigrant is attempting to sue the UK Government for £11 million — for making him unhappy.Daniel Kiunsi, who is from Tanzania in Africa, claims officials violated his human rights by confiscating his passport three years ago.He was allowed to enter to arrange for his family to leave — but is still here.Kiunsi, who lives in Upminster, Essex, is citing his right to liberty, a fair trial and private and family life — plus human rights laws relating to 'torture or inhuman or degrading treatment'. Awwww, you poor poor Pheasant. Whereas for you Britain you naughty naughty country , if you were a child I would give you a clap round the ear hole. Afterall you are depriving him of his right to claim unlimited benefits. How else is he to get money , if he doesn't sue you. Don't say work, he's already tried that and didn't like it, it's hard, furthermore benefits pay much more than work does. Whata to do ?

Democracy or Dictatorship

Democracy or no democracy, whether or not you think we should be in or out of Europe, you should agree there needs to be a referendum. That is what democracy is and since the aristocrats aren't allowing us to vote on the matter, we do not live in a democratic state but a dictatorship whereby Cameron and his goons make the decisions for us. Not to mention him and the German Chancellor talking about how we need to give more power to Europe. We need to get out of the EU before it either destroys us economically, or it absorbs us into an unelected EUSSR. We can trade with Europe after all we are one of their biggest customers, but we do not want nor need any political ties with them.  Merkal and Co are using this economic crisis to try and create a Federal Socialist European state via the back door and the rich tory financiers along with the labour socialists both embrace this concept. We need and deserve a referendum on our membership in the EU , we originally voted to join ONLY a common market NOT a European Union

Gordon Brown has done for Britain what Neron did for Rome

Every single scam was in London whether CDS at AIG or MF Global or RBS Fraud, or HBOS - RBS and HBOS alone were major lenders in Oz and USA. How did RBS get a balance sheet bigger than UK GDP? Northern Rock was lending  50% mortgages in UK by 2007 to feed its Offshore Unit GRANITE. British Banks had the lowest reserve assets in the world and were the most leveraged. Banks have contributed 600% GDP as liabilities to UK taxpayers. Gordon Brown as an Economic Terrorist who has destroyed lives. He should be on trial like Bernie Madoff. There is not a single economic disaster that he avoided. How much did he sell gold reserves for?  Yielding a £1 billion windfall to China. How much did he destroy Mobile Phone companies with his 3G Auction so that they transferred handset manufacture to China destroying an industry where Europe was way ahead?
Brown is criminal - go read Steve Keen, the Australian Economist and his comment that Britain will face a credit crunch in 2012 because Bank Debt is twice that in the USA and then look at Liam Halligan telling us that Brown failed to get the banks to fess up to Bad Debt.

Sort out the welfare system first, Theresa

So The Home Secretary Theresa May is trying to cut Immigration by 10%, so that the Immigrants could not take advantage of the UK's generous welfare system. Fantastic, how about looking into the rules of the welfare system, perhaps to make it less generous? And perhaps not just for the Immigrants? Isn’t it simply ridiculous to meet an young Italian man speaking a perfect Cockney (well you doo learn if you live in London for 8 years, where you don’t work, take all possible benefits, and occasionally bring in one of your friends bird to have a baby at our costs!) laughing at your stupid welfare? "In Italy I would be on the street in 8 weeks, here I'm having a ball!"

TEMPER, TEMPER

I agree with John Page. I also do not think he "lost his rag" in the tantrum sense - it seemed very controlled to me. Still it gave Bercow an opportunity to pursue his partisan vendetta, and of course the BBC are featuring it prominently on their labour party "news" website. Still Im quite sure the adoption of the idle bad tempered trimming out of touch heathite toff narrative by the formerly Tory leaning media will have the desired effect and we can all look forward to Balls being Chancellor in 2015.

Nigel’s offer to Cameron

"Slightly eccentric brand of Eurosceptic nationalism"
Call it what you like but It would appear that that it has got the LibLabCon rattled hence the offer a Referendum stories now emerging. Cameron spouted "it is for the Greek people to decide if the stay in the Euro/EU....." How long before he has to allow the British people the same say on UK membership? No one is going to trust the 3 major parties to hold a fair open referendum after the broken promises of last election and the recent vote in the House. The only way to force this issue is to
