It wasn't like this in the 90's by Tron

We were not altogether unlike this ourselves until the 19th century when we still locked up our unmarried daughters and turned a blind eye to what some of the menfolk were getting up to with other people's daughters. The folly here has been on the part of the baby boomers: they thought they could impose equality, and dispense with
domestic service, marriage, and the family. They thought they would always be young and fit, and have enough mod cons to stay liberated and independent. Then they decided anyway to import what was lacking - cheap unequal subordinate labour, for their own selfish convenience. It hasn't quite sorted out the problem of "care" though - of children and invalids - and they face a difficult old age in an overloaded welfare state. It didn't occur to the baby boomers either that other peoples might not be quite so far advanced down the egalitarian road of sexual and secular revolution and liberation; and anyone like Lord Denning or Enoch Powell who tried to enlighten them on this obvious point of difference was vilified and ostracised, if not actually criminalised. This blind insistence that everyone is at the same stage of civilization, or decadence, depending on how you look at it, at any one time in history, has now led to the police refusing to investigate cases like this. And there are all those other customs coming in - electoral fraud, bribery, corruption, slavery, female genital mutilation, suicide bombing - on top of the existing 1960s importation of mugging, shooting, and knifing - which we must continue by law to politely ignore.
